Is Karim Benzema the 45 million pound man?
That is the staggering fee that has been set for the young French star striker who is currently tearing things up for Lyon. The price may make things tough for his top suitors - Man Utd and Arsenal - but it is clear that his performance against Utd in the Champions League makes him the man to watch:
"Benzema's performance in Wednesday's Champions League fixture at Stade de Gerland, when he scored a superb individual goal and gave Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic as torrid a time as they have endured all season, has reinforced Ferguson's belief that he must explore the possibilities of putting him alongside Carlos Tevez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney in what might become the most feared forward line in the world."

SO -- will Utd get Karim or will it be Chelsea? What about Real Madrid? They have the money and may wish to replicate their bold move to get Zizou a few years ago. The fact that Milan have locked in Raul, Guti and Iker may increase the chances that they would spend big on a young talent like K-Ben.
What do you guys think?

Isn't that a million short of Zizou's record fee?!
