Well my friends here we are...the morning of the World Cup final. It is funny that this is always a time of mixed feelings for me - I find myself both looking forward to the game and dreading the end because it means that the World Cup is over for another 4 years.

I read a book by a reporter who covered the 1994 World Cup in the US and he described the World Cup as this amazing space ship that landed on earth every four years, bound people and their lives together and then flew away again.

Now that may be a bit of journo license in there but you get the point...there really is nothing quite like the World Cup and while it is RIGHT that it is only every 4 years (the idea of every two years does not make sense) it is also a bit sad as well.

Still - let's not be too upset - we should have an amazing final today and after it is over a very worthy winner.

My thoughts for the game are that at one end of the field the key match up is actually going to be between Henry and the Italian central defenders...Zizou will play a role but Henry needs to step up for France.
At the other end it is Gallas and Thuram v Totti and Toni.

This should be fun!
