Spurs Fans Frustrated By Loss to Villa
Spurs fans are really frustrated with their coach, team and ownership at the moment because all three are failing to do the basic things necessary to move the club forward.
In a ground hog day like moment, Villa played Spurs off the park at the Lane yesterday leaving the Londoners rooted to the bottom of the EPL table.
So what has gone wrong so far this season?
First, the coach has got to develop a system that plays to the strengths of the players currently available. Yesterday did not see that. Spurs need a defensive midfielder and their failure to play one there is costing them.
Second, the players need to start games with more aggression and speed - when you are at home in particular it is necessary to go on the attack and get the first goal.
Third, the ownership has failed to ship out dead wood in a timely fashion, created instability in the squad and failed to invest in one or two key positions including defensive midfield.
I think that Spurs need to play a system that includes a solid back four, a holding midfielder, Bale at left wing, Modric in the hole and one up front.
The squad and coach will come good but right now it is tough to be a Spurs fan.

I have to admit as an arsenal fan I’m loving this at the moment, however, I’m not writing to gloat. I am atually very surprised at how badly Spurs at playing at the moment. The squad assembled is a talented, if somewhat untested one. I look at players like Modric, Dos Santos, Bentley and think that’s the nucleus of a good attacking midfield. I for one was hoping Modric was going to end up in an Arsenal Shirt.
Overall I think patience is needed, players like Modric and Dos Santos will need to acclimatise to the Premier League.
I agress on the tactical side though. On Monday there seemed to be no real shape to the team. However, Monday was one of those games that happen to teams every now and again. The away team get an early goal and effectively shut up shop. I don’t think VIlla were particularly defensive, but they were in no rush to push up out of defence, content instead to hit you on the break. This is what led to the second goal, and the countless chances they wasted.
