Do American Soccer Fans Care About the NEW YORK COSMOS?

For many years we have assumed that the iconic New York Cosmos of Pele fame would be reborn as an MLS side. Does this make sense for futbol here in the U.S.? Should MLS be looking to add a second side to NYC (like LA where we have the Galaxy - Chivas USA rivalry) and should that side be the NY Cosmos?

If so -- when should this happen? 1, 2 or maybe 5 years from now?

Who should the flag ship player be? Ronaldinho? Henry (he seems to like NYC)?

I never really imagined that the Cosmos would be reborn...

and for some superstitious reason I feel that it would be a bad idea, i.e. the MLS would tank shortly afterward…

Considering how poorly the Red Bulls draw, they should focus on making that club work before adding another.

If they did, it has to be in the city limits…

Has anyone ever seen the great documentary ESPN ran on the Cosmos?
