Thoughts on Euro 2008

Luis has a terrific fan post up and created some fun criteria with which to measure the tournie. Check out his post and share your own thoughts on the thread. Here are my answers to his questions:
Player of the Tournament: Xavi—seemed to control the game in most matches and was very strong in the semi final and final….back to his best.
Young Player of the Tournament: – I agree with Luis re: Fabregas….and remember I am a Tottenham fan! He is going to win World Player of the Year within 3 years.
Game of the Tournament: Holland v Italy for me. Who would have thought the Dutch would blow away the Italians the way they did!
Biggest Disappointment: I agree with Luis that Ronaldo is at the top of the list….probably along with Henry for France and perhaps Pirlo for Italy.
Surprise of the Tournament: – The Spanish learning how to put teams away and to comfortably close out games.
Biggest let down after building so much hype: The Dutch against Russia….what happened?
Biggest Laugh: Peter Cech v Turkey and perhaps seeing the way the mighty French have fallen.

I think the biggest dissapointment was the Italian team as a whole.
Spains MVP was Senna and I don’t think it’s even close.
