Gang, I will be heading over to see this game tomorrow - Beckham in DC is well worth the rush effort to get back for the Euro 2008 final. I will have a little Beckham related announcement to make in a few weeks so stay tuned for that one!

Is Beckham really any good any more? I see quite a few Galaxy games since I live in the LA area now and he just doesn’t seem like a very good player any more.

IMHO, he’s still very good. The Galaxy defense is just really, really bad. Beckham remains an excellent passer and crosser of the ball, and one of the best standing over a dead ball.

I was watching an old qualifying match for

the 06 World Cup. England against Azerbidan (sp?). Beckham was just awesome. He does magnificent things with the ball and his crosses are nearly impossible to defend because they curl right into his teammates. It really is amazing.

I’ve watched a few Galaxy games and he definitely still has that. I guess I’m just not seeing the same speed in his runs any more which is understandable given his age.

yeah

He’s definitely lost a step or two. I also think he may not play with quite as much heart for the Galaxy as he does for England. The other thing to consider is that it sounds like the conditions were pretty miserable in DC. Hot and muggy. I know I’m not at my best in those conditions.
