Javier Mascherano Signs for Liverpool

The fee that shifts him from MSI to Anfield is about 17 million pounds. He is a really good player and a key piece of the puzzle for Pool. Along with Gerrard, Alonso, Torres, Reina and Carra Gold he represents a blue chip title winning type player.

His quotes are positive from a Pool point of view:

"I am very, very happy and now I can concentrate just on playing football. I said all along that I wanted to stay at Liverpool and now that I have signed I can say this is the best and the biggest moment in my career so far. From the first day I arrived at Liverpool the feeling was good and I knew this was where I wanted to play my football."

One concern/question is why he only signed a 4 year deal....he is only 23 years old. I would have thought his age and the price would have led to a 5 year contract.

Great move
If there's a better holding mid in the world right now, I don't who it is.

At the very least, Mascherano has to be in the top 5.
