Questions for USA-Ecuador

There are a lot of unanswered questions going into the USA-Ecuador friendly. Will Landon continue his revival? Will Onyewu and Conrad gell in the middle as a world-class central defense tandem? Can we FINALLY find a legitimate scoring threat up front?

Most importantly...will Eric Wynalda and Bruce Arena fight in the broadcasters' booth? Or will Bruce somehow forget Eric's constant banshee cries for his (ultimately justified) ouster?

We'll see...

booth catfight...nothing better!
that red card yellow card segment with wynalda was pretty weak. just keep him in the booth (or in the parking lot)....anyway, i watched a majority of the 1st half and that central defense you were looking for was missing and a better striking team would have really done some damage. unfortunately i couldn't watch the 2nd half, interesting match though

Agreed on both counts
Landon is back. And the central defense, which should be the best AND deepest place in this squad, is very, very shaky. And Bocanegra is not working out on the left side.

Hm. Maybe I should be a little happier as we dominate play and hold a 3-1 lead.

it was great to see landon play so well
but as always, he stepped it up in a game that didn't really matter.  i'll hop back on the bandwagon if he keeps this up through the summer tournaments...

Call me
When Landon plays well outside of the US in a meaningful match.

Don't get me wrong, I'm encouraged by what I saw from him... but I've seen this before. I've seen him play well on this stage and fold on the bigger ones.

isnt this predicated on a solid back line?
something that was clearly missing yesterday!

3 very nice goals by Landon
agreed, its only a friendly, and Landon can disappear when it matters.  but those goals were some of the best he has ever scored.  if i'm not mistaken, the first one was a half volley with his left foot.  i don't recall him shooting with his left before.  the breakaway shows he still has his wheels and is in shape.  the last goal also was a terrific first time strike.  something tells me the guy has been focused on shooting in training.  i hope he keeps it up.
